Split Systems

What is a split system?

A split air conditioner consists of two main parts: the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The outdoor unit is installed on or near the wall outside of the room or space that you wish to cool, though this can be some distance away if required by the building design or other demands.
The outdoor unit houses the compressor, condenser coil, various electronic components and the expansion coil or capillary tubing. The sleek-looking indoor unit contains the cooling coil, a supply air fan & motor, as well as and an air filter & more electronic components & boards.

Split systems are capable of cooling down larger spaces like living rooms, dining areas or master’s bedrooms. Most split system models are also built with inverter technology and are designed to be more energy efficient compared to other types of air conditioners.

Some split system models not only provide cooling in warmer weather but also give off heating when temperatures start to drop (reverse cycle air conditioning). Other models are also equipped with dehumidifying features and advanced filtration systems that help improve air quality in homes while filtering microscopic particles and removing bacteria.
